We are seeking a dedicated Engineering Technician IV to oversee site inspections, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide guidance to staff and the public on environmental matters.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in civil engineering, civil engineering technology or drafting and design; AND
  • Four (4) years of technical experience that includes computer aided drafting (AutoCAD) or surveying, OR
  • Four (4) years of technical engineering experience in the area of engineering to which the position is assigned;
  • OR
  • High School diploma or GED; AND
  • Six (6) years of technical experience that includes computer aided drafting (AutoCAD) or surveying, OR
  • Six (6) years of technical engineering experience in the area of engineering to which the position is assigned
  • Must possess a valid Class-E State driver's license at the time of appointment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct mandatory environmental inspections for projects with management permits, including new construction and redevelopment sites.
  • Review construction sites for compliance with sediment run-off containment, stormwater management, tree impacts, regulated environmental feature protection, and approved plans.
  • Provide guidance to staff and respond to public inquiries regarding environmental concerns and tree impacts.
  • Support permit application reviews and ensure projects meet environmental regulations and best practices.
  • Review electronic submittals, including pre-construction meeting documents and project close-out materials, for accuracy and compliance.
