Requirements

  • Active Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance (active Secret clearance preferred, U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance)
  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience working with SONAR systems as a submarine SONAR Technician in the US Navy
  • Ability to travel
  • Valid US passport holder

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working at Submarine Surveillance Equipment Program (SSEP)

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for testing, troubleshooting, installation, calibration, repair, and modification of equipment and systems.
  • Solve technical problems in accordance with prescribed specifications.
  • Conduct laboratory and shipboard work in multiple US Navy homeports.
  • Conduct submarine ship checks to determine the necessary efforts to seamlessly install systems onboard a platform.
  • Draft Memorandums of Agreement, Work Authorization Forms, System Tagouts and Controlled work packages.
  • Provide technical input and review for developing new Temporary Alterations (TempAlts), Operational Alterations (OpAlts) and Ship Alterations (ShipAlts).
  • Author detailed reports.
