About The Position

The Engineering Technician III is a senior-level technical expert responsible for complex system diagnostics, major repairs, and ensuring the reliability of critical infrastructure across the resort. This role requires advanced knowledge across multiple trades and the ability to resolve high-impact issues efficiently, without formal supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or advanced certifications preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance, engineering, or related field (resort/hospitality strongly preferred)
  • Advanced knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • Certifications such as EPA (Universal), pool operation, or electrical licensing strongly preferred
  • Expert-level troubleshooting and analytical thinking
  • Strong understanding of building systems integration
  • Ability to manage complex repairs under pressure
  • High level of accountability and attention to detail
  • Clear communication with vendors, leadership, and team members
  • Ability to lift 75+ lbs and handle heavy equipment
  • Ability to work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and outdoor environments
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including evenings, weekends, and emergency call-ins

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of: HVAC systems (including advanced electrical controls and system performance issues)
  • Electrical systems (panels, breakers, circuits, and control components)
  • Plumbing infrastructure (supply lines, valves, pumps, and drainage systems)
  • Mechanical systems (boilers, water heaters, pumps, and motors)
  • Lead complex repair projects and major equipment replacements
  • Identify root causes of recurring maintenance issues and implement long-term solutions
  • Support and help execute comprehensive preventive maintenance programs
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors: Provide access, scope clarification, and quality verification of work performed
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, safety procedures, and local building codes
  • Maintain detailed documentation of repairs, inspections, and system performance
  • Assist with inventory tracking, parts ordering recommendations, and equipment lifecycle planning
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to other technicians (without direct supervision)
  • Respond to critical system failures and emergency situations, including after-hours support
