About The Position

The Engineering Technician III position at the Municipality of Anchorage involves performing paraprofessional work under general supervision within the Anchorage Water and Wastewater Utility (AWWU). Responsibilities

• Administer and execute AWWU's real estate management functions, including property acquisition and relinquishment.
• Coordinate platting actions and conduct zoning reviews.
• Evaluate encroachment requests and manage AWWU property management and leasing.
• Conduct easement research and review proposals for land use changes.
• Manage and load information into AWWU databases.
• Review civil design documents and record drawings.
• Address public inquiries through various communication channels.
• Provide technical support including data research, fact-finding, and preparing graphic illustrations.
• Prepare work products such as letters, memos, agreements, and reports.
• Perform calculations and prepare graphic presentations.
• Conduct peer reviews of draft work products.
• Mentor AWWU or other Planning Section positions regarding real estate management functions.
• Assist in administering and executing Other Agency Projects Program by conducting inspections of water and sanitary sewer facilities.
