About The Position

Engineering Technician II LOCATION: Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL JOB STATUS: Full Time CLEARANCE: Secret Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Technician for the RTC Test and Engineering Services (RTES) Contract supporting the Army Division.

Requirements

• General computer / networking skills strongly desired
• Basic understanding of electrical circuits and power systems, some experience in an industrial electrical work environment preferred
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision to complete tasks in a timely manner
• High School Diploma or GED
• 3 years of applicable experience supporting engineering or testing of hardware in the appropriate area of specialization; or 2 years of applicable college/vocational/military/technical school and 1 year of appliable experience in the assigned specialty area
• Must have sixteen (16) weeks of civilian or military training in electronics or basic instrumentation techniques and at least 1 of the 3 years of experience must be in electronics/instrumentation supporting engineering or testing of military hardware

Nice To Haves

• Experience with PLC’s and/or National Instruments hardware is a plus

Responsibilities

• Work on a team to support DoD systems testing with an emphasis on safety and meeting test schedules
• Troubleshoot, repair and upgrade refrigeration control systems, test instrumentation, data acquisition systems, security camera systems and information technology systems
• Support a variety of testing environments and situations, including extreme temperature, altitude, wind, dust and rain testing, both indoor and outdoor.
