About The Position

The Engineering Technician I position at Terracon is a seasonal role focused on providing construction materials testing and inspection services. The technician will work under supervision to ensure the quality and safety of construction projects, including transportation infrastructure and commercial developments. This role involves hands-on testing and observation of materials, documentation of findings, and communication with project managers and clients to uphold project standards and safety regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel.
• Communicate with project managers, engineering technicians, and client representatives regarding project requirements and testing results.
• Transport material samples to the laboratory for further testing and analysis, ensuring proper documentation is maintained.
• Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in written and digital reports for daily transmittal to the Project Manager.
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas, adhering to strict safety standards.
• Assist on tasks and perform basic testing and observation duties under close supervision.
• Provide clear documentation of findings and results, communicating information to the Project Manager.
• Follow safety rules and practices, performing pre-task planning and reporting any safety issues to management.
