About The Position

SAIC is seeking an Engineering Technician I to support engineering activities within the context of managing Tier 3 equivalent colocation data center facilities for federal agencies. This role involves monitoring 7x24x365 Data Center Facility Operations and Access Control to ensure compliance with necessary standards. The position supports the NCCIPSv2 Contract, a federal shared services facility managed by the NASA Shared Services Center. Key engineering activities include design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices, or specialized test equipment. The technician will work from various technical documents to perform testing, troubleshooting, assist in remedying malfunctions, collect and manipulate technical data, and prepare engineering documentation. This is an on-site position located at Stennis Space Center, Mississippi.

Requirements

• Proven experience in managing Tier 3 equivalent colocation data center facilities.
• Instrumental in monitoring Facility Operations to ensure compliance with the necessary standards required for federal agencies.

Responsibilities

• Monitor 7x24x365 Data Center Facility Operations and Access Control.
• Support engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment.
• Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions.
• Assist in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
• Collect, maintain, organize, compile, and manipulate technical data.
• Prepare engineering documentation, reports, drawings, etc.
