About The Position

L3Harris Technologies Inc. is seeking an Engineering Technician level B to join our team in providing RF SATCOM testing to support the portfolio of systems within the Combat Mission Systems Support (CMSS) contract.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain TOP SECRET / SCI security clearance.
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/associate’s degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Prior relevant experience examples: experience with testing/troubleshooting RF SATCOM systems, experience with testing/troubleshooting RF SATCOM Hardware.

  • Familiar with standard electronic test and measurement equipment operations.
  • Ability to solder.

Responsibilities

  • General understanding of RF and testing equipment (Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator, etc.)
  • Responsible for the test and evaluation of COTS equipment and components which are a part of systems sustained by L3Harris for designated customers.
  • Utilize electronic test and measurement equipment to support general laboratory operations.
  • Assemble, configure, test, operate, and repair hardware in accordance with documentation provided.
  • Perform benchtop RF testing with only the guidance of a test procedure and understand what the procedure is testing.
  • Understands RF connection types and waveguide sizes (e.g. N type connectors, 2.92 mm connectors, SMA connectors, BNC connectors)
  • Clearly understand common RF terminology (i.e. Loads, waveguides, terminations, barrel vs. bullets, attenuation, isolation, etc.)
  • Collect test data for review and analysis. Document equipment failures through designated reporting tools.
  • Assist in the performance of electrical, mechanical, and RF troubleshooting as required.
  • Provide limited documentation support, such as minor edits to existing procedures and/or technical drawings.
  • Maintain a clean, well-organized, and safe work area. Follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to the manager.
  • Support facility operations through the completion of assigned tasks as directed by management.
  • May assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify processes.
