About The Position

At Lam, as an Engineering Technician, you play a crucial role in supporting activities such as the design, testing, modification, and assembly of electromechanical systems, experimental circuitry, and specialized test equipment. By referencing schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation, you conduct testing and troubleshooting activities. You perform fault isolation and assist in identifying methods to resolve malfunctions. Your commitment to precision and problem-solving enhances the performance and reliability of Lam’s engineering systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 - 4 years of related experience.
  • Firsthand experience with installation, maintenance, repair, testing, or troubleshooting of equipment or electronics.
  • Effective communication skills, written and verbal, in English.
  • Proficient in utilizing computer-based data systems, applications, and Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to work a shift schedule.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree, technical certificate, diploma, or higher in a technical field.
  • Experience in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, bioengineering, metrology, lab operations, or related areas.
  • Semiconductor industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting using schematics, diagrams, descriptions, layouts, and defined plans.
  • Test and troubleshoot system-level and component-level issues in electrical and mechanical systems and subsystems.
  • Inspect materials, components, and products for surface defects, and measure circuitry using electronic test equipment, precision measuring instruments, microscopes, and standard procedures.
  • Conduct operational testing and fault isolation on systems and equipment, assisting in determining corrective methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
  • Support the design, construction, testing, and checkout of specialized test equipment.
  • Use test and diagnostic equipment, including test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and specialized test apparatus.
  • Collaborate with development engineers during engineering tests to collect design data and support research efforts.
