Meet the team: The Membrane Test Team in the R&D Advanced Electrochemistry and Sensor Department at Dexcom is a dynamic group of engineers and technicians focused on assessment of sensor functional performance for new sensor membrane materials and designs. The Engineering Technician 3 position is a crucial role in performing bench tests on new sensors to support the evaluation of reliability and accuracy improvements to the glucose sensor architecture. This role in the laboratory will provide a first-hand experience with characterizing sensor performance in the development of the company's next generation glucose sensor. Where you come in: You will be performing various electrochemical tests and test preparation tasks in the laboratory to support R&D sensor testing needs and test development initiatives. You will conduct a wide variety of laboratory tasks including instrument calibrations, test bath preparation, bath pump maintenance and calibration, buffer and stock solution preparation, as well as collection and organization of test data. You are able to run complex test methods involving multiple software programs controlling several instruments in concert with precise coordination of the test sequence and ensuring timing of the test. You will track build and test data through a Kanban board for complete traceability of sensors tested, through planning, execution and completion of tests. Record keeping and documentation for testing performed including providing data summaries and drafting lab reports is required. You will work on test method development under the direction of an R&D Engineer in the optimization of new tests. You will perform basic troubleshooting of instrumentation and computers. You support organization and fixturing of sensors for test and sterilization. You thrive in a highly collaborative, team driven laboratory environment. You are able to follow test procedures and are methodical in performing tests consistently. You are meticulous with attention to detail on ensuring instrumentation and test setups are run and maintained correctly. You are adept at making experimental observations and proposing test hypotheses. You have experience with handling and plotting of data using JMP and Microsoft Excel You are motivated by problem solving and troubleshooting of test equipment to generate clean signal data. Requirements

  • demonstrated proficiency with laboratory analytical techniques and working knowledge of instrumentation
  • thrive in a highly collaborative, team driven laboratory environment
  • able to follow test procedures and are methodical in performing tests consistently
  • meticulous with attention to detail on ensuring instrumentation and test setups are run and maintained correctly
  • adept at making experimental observations and proposing test hypotheses
  • experience with handling and plotting of data using JMP and Microsoft Excel
  • motivated by problem solving and troubleshooting of test equipment to generate clean signal data
  • Typically requires a minimum of 4-6 years of related experience and High School diploma/certificate or equivalent

  • Experience working in an electronics lab or with test equipment is a plus.
