About The Position

Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics). Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis. An engineering technician in this position is expected to be capable of the following for Ford class propulsion automation systems:1. support construction and maintenance of software test equipment, 2. supporting software installation and test, 3. conducting operator and maintainer training, and 4. assisiting with troubleshooting effort to support .

Requirements

Associate's Degree and 3 years of relevant experience
US Citizenship Required for this Position
Final Clearance Required to Start
One of the following may be used as equivalent to Associate's Degree to meet minimum qualifications: NNS Apprentice School graduate
Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
High School/GED and 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience
High School/GED and 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience

Nice To Haves

2 years previous experience in Ford class propulsion/nuclear test engineering, or 2 years previous active duty in a Ford class propulsion operator position.
