We are looking for a full-time Intern for our Houston office located in Katy, Tx to join our team for a duration of 10 consecutive weeks from June to August. As a Engineering/Technical Student for our US PICCo office, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:

Requirements

18 years of age or older and able to work in Houston, TX
Employment with PCL is contingent upon passing a background check and substance abuse test conducted by a third party
Proficient with Microsoft office software
Ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and construction related software.
Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications, and perform quantity take offs
Must be authorized to work in the US PCL will not sponsor an employment visa (e.g., H1-B, etc.) for this position.

Responsibilities

Conducts basic safety inspections and training, identifies hazards and corrections, and leads by example for health and safety practices and procedures.
Assists with third-party inspections and site reviews.
Assists superintendent with workforce planning.
Assists in tracking time, materials, and equipment.
Prepares quantity takeoffs as directed for production analysis, material orders, etc.
Assists in monitoring quality plan, Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) (BLDG and CIVIL).
Assists project engineers/coordinators with trade contractor management, including requests for information (RFIs), shop drawings, changes, and billings.
Assists with materials and equipment inventory.
Assists with schedules (three-week lookaheads).
Assists with change management.
Assists with documentation of performance (production, progress) commodity curves—collection, weekly productivities.
Assists with updating drawings and specifications.
Liaises with trade contractors, consultants, designers, engineers.
Develop and maintains strong customer focused relationships with all stakeholders.
Values and models the solution provider and profitability culture.
Other duties as required.
