About The Position

The Engineering & Technical Management Practitioner provides systems engineering expertise, technical leadership, and lifecycle management support for complex defense systems. The role focuses on translating mission needs into technical solutions, managing system development activities, and ensuring systems are designed, produced, and sustained to meet performance and operational requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in systems engineering, technical management, or related engineering disciplines.
  • TS/SCI Clearance
  • Experience supporting defense acquisition programs or complex technical systems.
  • Strong understanding of requirements analysis, system architecture, technical baselines, and risk management.
  • Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical information clearly.
  • Familiarity with digital engineering tools, modeling and simulation, or software development environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with mission engineering, system-of-systems integration, or operational analysis.
  • Background in manufacturing readiness, quality assurance, or industrial base assessments.
  • Experience with DevSecOps pipelines, software assurance, or cybersecurity engineering.
  • Knowledge of federal acquisition processes and technical contracting practices.
  • Degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze mission needs, operational context, and stakeholder objectives to inform system concepts and architectures.
  • Support system-of-systems integration, interface definition, and technical alignment across government and industry teams.
  • Develop technical inputs that connect mission outcomes to engineering tasks and program priorities.
  • Lead requirements definition, decomposition, and traceability activities.
  • Develop verification and validation approaches that ensure requirements are measurable and testable.
  • Coordinate with test and evaluation teams to align technical objectives with program milestones.
  • Manage technical baselines, configuration control, and engineering change processes.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks and issues throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Support technical reviews, readiness assessments, and decision boards.
  • Evaluate design alternatives for performance, manufacturability, producibility, and lifecycle supportability.
  • Collaborate with quality, production, and industrial base teams to ensure readiness for manufacturing and deployment.
  • Support technology transition planning and early production integration.
  • Apply digital engineering tools, modeling and simulation, and data-driven analysis to support design and decision-making.
  • Coordinate with software engineering teams on DevSecOps practices, software assurance, and configuration management.
  • Contribute to the development and sustainment of digital engineering environments and model-based workflows.
  • Integrate cybersecurity, resilience, and threat-informed design considerations into system development.
  • Support analysis of adverse conditions, contested environments, and system vulnerabilities.
  • Contribute to test planning that evaluates system performance under realistic operational stresses.
  • Provide technical input to acquisition strategies, statements of work, and contract deliverables.
  • Participate in technical evaluations and source selection activities.
  • Monitor contractor performance to ensure alignment with technical requirements and program objectives.
