About The Position

The Engineering Technical Associate is an entry-level engineering role that provides foundational support to the Engineering and Sales teams while learning Quick Cable systems, standards, and manufacturing processes. This position focuses on accuracy, documentation, and developing a strong understanding of the “Quick Cable Way” while supporting daily engineering operations under the guidance of Project Engineers and senior engineering staff. Primary Focus Accuracy, learning, and adherence to established standards. The goal of the ETA I is to build core technical skills while mastering Quick Cable engineering practices, systems, and documentation requirements.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Computer Aided Design or equivalent experience
  • 1–3 years of experience drafting and designing in a work environment or university setting
  • Able to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities.
  • SolidWorks and AutoCAD proficiency required
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and achievement-oriented with interest in career advancement
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing and detailing electrical assemblies is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support the Engineering and Sales teams by creating and modifying 2D and 3D CAD drawings for custom cable assemblies using established Quick Cable standards.
  • Assist Project Engineers in taking designs from concept through final design using engineering best practices and common manufacturing processes.
  • Create, organize, and maintain complete engineering documentation packages, including: - Assembly drawings and schematics - Bills of Materials (BOMs) - Routings - Test procedures - Fabrication drawings
  • Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routings within the ERP system.
  • Build, organize, and maintain Quick Cable CAD component libraries.
  • Convert 2D drawings into accurate 3D models.
  • Interpret customer drawings and redesign them using Quick Cable components and engineering standards.
  • Learn, define, and adhere to engineering standards while ensuring all designs comply with applicable quality and safety requirements.
  • Provide material estimates and technical support to the Sales team for custom cable quotes under guidance from engineering leadership.
  • Investigate customer questions or concerns (through the Sales team) and provide technical feedback with direction from senior engineering staff.
  • Issue Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) to communicate approved design changes to cross-functional teams.
