About The Position

AHF Products has a great part-time, short-term opportunity for an Engineering Technician in our Maintenance Department at our Kankakee Flooring Plant in Kankakee, IL. We are looking for an energetic, self-driven, detailed orientated individual who has some mechanical understanding of how equipment runs, proficient computer skills, and the ability to build a new system to track our roll inventory. This position will have responsibilities on the manufacturing floor and office setting.

Requirements

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Understand how to read diagrams, blueprints, and drawings
• Ability to understand how the equipment runs and ensure all components align with diagrams
• Ability to convey ideas clearly and listen actively to others
• Strong written, verbal, and analytical skills
• 3 years of computer experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Project management abilities with excellent communication abilities
• Must be able to work independently or in a group setting
• Must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check, employment verification and drug screening
• Positive and Verifiable Work History
• Must follow safety guidelines and wear applicable safety equipment, e.g., safety glasses, side shields, approved safety shoes, and other PPE as needed

Responsibilities

• Utilize systems to pull information to create roll management system
• Spend time on manufacturing floor to understand the roll system and components
• Create diagrams, blueprints and drawings for the rolls
• Create procedures for scheduling and completing roll changes
• Maintain accurate records pertaining to roll inventory
• Assist in creation of documentation/training documents
• Other engineering tasks as assigned
