OCWA is looking for a Service Material Program Coordinator and a Project Representative to join its Engineering Department and lead OCWA's proactive Lead and Copper Compliance Program.

  • Provide site level ownership representation with support and coordination from experienced team members
  • Liaise between contractors and project stakeholders as OCWA's voice in the field
  • Assist in the conducting of engineering studies and investigations, field surveys, construction, inspections, demolition inspections and maintenance of contracts which may include walking over rough terrain, uneven surfaces, or hills
  • Unload and transport equipment from vehicles to field assignment locations
  • Evaluate, test, and perform quality control work on construction materials and manufactured equipment used in construction
  • Perform work involving office review and plotting of field survey data, check engineering and cost calculations
  • Utilize OCWA's GIS and other mapping files in the field digitally to guide and inform contractors as they progress the work
  • Assist in the preparation of plans and specifications; design of engineering projects; preparation of contracts and their administration
  • Assist in the review of specifications and engineering drawings
  • Assist in the maintenance of office records and the preparation of contractors' payment requisitions
  • Manage your work and priorities independently while being part of a collaborative, supportive team
  • Utilize technology-based solutions like predictive modeling and GIS
  • Coordinate and oversee water service line inspections and replacement work
  • Coordinate, observe, and document OCWA-side water service line replacement with OCWA team members or a contractor
  • Coordinate and follow-up on notifications after existing service line disturbances
  • Observe and document customer-side service line work
  • Inspect and verify service line materials in the field, and update and maintain the inventory database
  • Communicate and coordinate with several departments within OCWA
  • Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with an associate degree in Engineering Science or in an engineering technology field
  • Two (2) years of paraprofessional or professional work experience, or its part-time equivalent, in civil engineering
  • Possession of a valid NYS driver's license appropriate to the vehicle(s) being operated when required to operate a motor vehicle
