About The Position

Enbridge Gas Ohio is looking for Engineering Technicians C – Inspection. What you will do: Performs duties and increases skill in inspection and related paperwork and other engineering, and record maintenance activities associated with the construction and inspection of Company projects. Will work under the direction of like or higher classifications and/or supervisor but is often left to own resourcefulness to accomplish the work. May lead, direct, and assign the work of like classifications as well as contractors. Apply today! #joinourteam Typical Duties •Understands and enforces company SOPs, environmental regulations and other processes associated with the duties of this classification. •Performs field inspection and develops field notes for construction projects. •Completes necessary paperwork and inputs data into company record systems as required. •Performs verification of operator qualifications. •Inspects the installation of cathodic protection devices as required and ensure that they are working properly. •Locates and provides information and direction to others regarding company facilities. •Performs coordination activities on Company projects utilizing engineering records, field book and mapping information, etc. •Reads and interprets construction prints. •Interprets easement documents, along with surveying information and construction preparations •Interprets MOT plans and coordinates with traffic control to ensure MOT plans are being followed. •Inspects required purging procedures. •Coordinates with other project inspection roles to ensure effective project oversight •Inspects routine mainline projects as assigned •Inspects service line installations as assigned. •Learns to inspect station projects as assigned. •Learns to inspect multicrew projects as assigned. •Learns to inspect complex mainline projects as assigned. Working Conditions •Work is primarily performed outside in all types of weather conditions. Some office work is required. #Topemployer Who you are: Requirements •Must pass a qualifying test. •One of the following is required: a. Completed vocational or technical training in an Engineering or Construction Management Program (degree or certificate). b. Three years’ direct experience or formal training in pipeline construction, pipeline maintenance or system operations (EGO experience in C&M, GM&R, Live Gas Tapping). c. Three years’ experience in natural gas pipeline design. You have: •Basic computer and math skills. Good communication skills (written and verbal). •Must be willing to work overtime (unplanned Weekday and Saturday) as needed to support the project goals and customer needs and maintain a good work performance record. •Must have a valid driver’s license and may be required to use a personal vehicle for Company business use. •Experience relating interpersonally with internal and external customers. Preferred Qualifications API 1169 Pipeline Construction Inspector certification (preferred). NACE/AMPP CIP Level 1 (preferred). OSHA 10/30 and OQ qualifications (preferred). Strong working knowledge of high-pressure transmission pipelines, station construction, and integrity dig programs. Strong working knowledge of distribution pipeline systems. Experience with hydro tests, air test, hot taps/stopples, tie-ins, sleeves, composite repairs, and anomaly remediation. Ability to interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, test packages, weld maps, and ILI dig sheets. Strong working knowledge of LOTO and Energy Control Plans. Familiarity with Blue Beam, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365. Familiarity with GPS collection software.

Requirements

  • Must pass a qualifying test.
  • One of the following is required: a. Completed vocational or technical training in an Engineering or Construction Management Program (degree or certificate). b. Three years’ direct experience or formal training in pipeline construction, pipeline maintenance or system operations (EGO experience in C&M, GM&R, Live Gas Tapping). c. Three years’ experience in natural gas pipeline design.
  • Basic computer and math skills. Good communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Must be willing to work overtime (unplanned Weekday and Saturday) as needed to support the project goals and customer needs and maintain a good work performance record.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and may be required to use a personal vehicle for Company business use.
  • Experience relating interpersonally with internal and external customers.
