About The Position

Our client, a world leader in diagnostics and life sciences, is looking for a 'Engineering Systems Specialist' based out of Tucson, AZ. We are seeking a highly motivated Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will apply advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and practices to develop, test, and optimize complex systems. This role involves concept generation, design validation, system integration, and performance testing against specifications. The engineer will also support manufacturing process development, troubleshoot technical issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Solid understanding of fundamental and some specialized engineering concepts.
• Experience in system integration and lab-based equipment testing (hands-on experience preferred).
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other technical documentation tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline).
• 0–3 years of relevant experience in design, testing, or system integration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate design concepts, ensuring compliance with performance, quality, and reliability standards.
• Participate in design and technical reviews, providing insights and recommendations.
• Conduct testing, validation, and reliability assessments for product and system performance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to identify root causes of issues and propose engineering solutions.
• Support the development and optimization of manufacturing processes.
• Review and analyze technical data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Contribute to patentable inventions and innovation initiatives.
• Present and discuss technical data within the engineering team.
• Promote a 'Quality First Time' culture across all project activities.
• Perform other engineering duties as assigned.
