About The Position

The Engineering Support Specialist at Eaton's Electrical division serves as a critical technical liaison between engineering and manufacturing teams, ensuring smooth operations during the custom product build cycle. This role involves project leadership, documentation management, quality assurance, and process improvement, with a focus on enhancing efficiency and product quality. The specialist will also collaborate with vendors and manage BOMs while providing expert engineering support for custom designs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of three (3) years work experience in electrical product development.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Experience designing power systems or data centers.
  • Knowledge of engineering database systems (Enovia) and business applications (SAP).
  • Good understanding of the performance and capabilities of Eaton's large UPS and power distribution products.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing concepts and test operations.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary technical interface between engineering and manufacturing.
  • Represent the engineering team in cross-functional meetings to coordinate project milestones.
  • Collaborate with engineers to review and finalize documentation requirements for custom projects.
  • Verify the accuracy of engineering releases and ensure designs align with manufacturing capabilities.
  • Identify and recommend process and procedural enhancements to boost efficiency and quality.
  • Provide constructive feedback to engineers, designers, and management based on manufacturing and field observations.
  • Work closely with purchasing and vendors to secure necessary items for ETO projects.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to efficiently modify custom BOMs in SAP.
  • Maintain and manage the product engineering lifecycle system (Enovia).
  • Oversee material transactions through the MRP system to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Provide expert engineering support for custom designs as needed.
