About The Position

The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for overseeing distribution facilities and ensuring that they operate within both operating procedures and engineering specifications. Will review yearly, system load telemetry and analyze distribution components, design relief alternatives, evaluate for economic feasibility, make project recommendations and issue distribution layouts and B&A's. Support the construction groups throughout project construction. Provide the Control Center with support during all system contingencies or storms. Analyze customer complaints, voltage irregularities and component failures. Review and comment on both distribution procedures and specifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years' experience with engineering related topics.
  • Must have at least 2 years' experience with engineering related projects.
  • Must be detail oriented and have excellent organizational, analytical and technical skills.
  • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Must possess working knowledge of computer systems, including Logica applications and MS Office products.
  • Must have an understanding of Electric Operations specifications and procedures.
  • Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment.
  • Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory as needed.
  • Driver's License Required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology.
  • Understanding of Electric Operation Specifications, Engineering Orders, layouts, M&S and C&DO plates.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee distribution facilities and ensure they operate within operating procedures and engineering specifications.
  • Review yearly system load telemetry and analyze distribution components.
  • Design relief alternatives and evaluate for economic feasibility.
  • Make project recommendations and issue distribution layouts and B&A's.
  • Support construction groups throughout project construction.
  • Provide Control Center support during system contingencies or storms.
  • Analyze customer complaints, voltage irregularities, and component failures.
  • Review and comment on distribution procedures and specifications.
  • Perform safety talks, OJTs, and ensure safe work practices are followed.
  • Supervise designers on studies done manually or using PVL on distribution feeders.
  • Provide engineering design recommendations for load relief and reliability.
  • Review and sign off on distribution layouts, B&As, and feeder sequences.
  • Direct preparation of appropriations for project funding.
  • Review progress of various projects to ensure completion within timeframe and budget.
  • Establish feeder ratings and evaluate new business projects for impact on distribution equipment.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of outages and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Direct and track activities required to update all distribution maps.
  • Provide off hour and weekend support during storms or outages.
  • Monitor and provide engineering analysis during ICS events.
  • Represent the company at meetings with customers, contractors, and officials.
  • Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
