Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering field
  • 2 or more years of experience in manufacturing engineering
  • Proven problem-solving ability
  • Production Experience

Nice To Haves

  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • 2 or more years in the automotive industry
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience
  • 8D and 5Why corrective action and problem solving skills
  • Solid understanding of Lean Tools – 5S, Kanban, Poka-yoke, and Value Stream Mapping
  • Familiarity with DMAIC and DMADV (DFSS) Project Methodology experience
  • Knowledge of TQM and Kaizen Methods
  • FMEA, PPAP, and DOEs experience
  • Validated experience with Visual Factory Management
  • Ergonomic analysis knowledge and experience
  • Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Review with production team leaders and Process Coaches quality issues and be the point of contact with other departments such as Machining, Quality and MP&L.
  • Keep traceability records
  • Lead 8D resolution
  • Contribute to Green and Black Belt project teams within the department.
  • Participate in interplant benchmarking exercises.
  • Apply engineering principles & analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products.
  • Provide input for design and assembly concepts which will yield nominal variations.
  • Able to flex schedule as needed.
  • Use company and industry standard processes and tools to plan, design, manage, and utilize gauges for measurement of components and assemblies.
  • Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance principles.
  • Interpret data from inspection equipment and recommend responses.
  • Ensure calibrations; certification; and repeatability and reproducibility.
  • Determine locators and measuring points.
  • Verify tolerance/engineering specifications.
