About The Position

Our managers play a crucial role in supporting facilities, utilities and manufacturing operations, ensuring they remain operational while continuously improving and innovating. With access to a diverse range of facilities and environments, our managers have opportunities to work in and collaborate with various areas, including Biological, Chemical, Automation, Capital Projects, Maintenance, Safety, Process Development, Technical Services, Utilities, and Validation. The Maintenance Manager will oversee maintenance activities and manage the associated workforce, which may include both union and salaried employees, to achieve business objectives during their respective shifts. This role requires effective collaboration within a team environment, focusing on maintenance execution, the administration of personnel performance policies and procedures, change management, and the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives. The Maintenance Manager is assigned to a manufacturing processing area and partners with the Operation's Shift Manager, Technical Operations, Operational Safety and Quality Operations to ensure the processing area(s) are operating safely, compliantly and at peak efficiency. The function of the position is to coordinate maintenance activities for personnel, equipment and facilities within the operating area.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree or higher in engineering (mechanical, chemical, or similar discipline) or related scientific field (chemistry, physics, math)
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Manufacturing, Maintenance or Military environments
  • Experience troubleshooting equipment failures and resolving utilizing mechanical tradesmen to execute the work
  • Experience in safely securing mechanical system, tanks and utilities for execution of work and confined space entry
  • Experience working in a team environment and influencing others
  • Experience interfacing with various types of rotating equipment
  • Experience in a regulated industry; such pharmaceuticals, food, and or nuclear
  • Experience with a CMMS Plant Maintenance management system
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Experience in an SAP Plant Maintenance management system
  • Experience working in a cGMP environment

  • Flexibility to perform various tasks to support the business
  • Reliability engineering, Predictive Maintenance (PdM) experience
  • Process Safety Management (PSM), Mechanical and/or electrical
  • Experience interfacing with sterile manufacturing equipment and sterile/aseptic techniques
  • Experience interfacing with utility equipment; including chillers, heat exchangers, AHU, WFI generation, clean steam generators and cold storage units
  • Experience in a regulated industry such as pharmaceuticals, food or nuclear

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Operations and Maintenance Manager and employees to improve equipment uptime and reliability
  • Act as the Technical Observer and contributor in real time deviation investigations
  • Manage, mentor and collaborate with Maintenance skilled craft persons assigned to the shift
  • Maintain and evaluate Metrics to support Process and Maintenance Optimization
  • Drive the execution and prioritization of the Maintenance Work
  • Provide mechanical support to the Operation's Shift Manager in making Product by providing reliable fixed assets and utilities
  • Collaborate with other site groups in troubleshooting issues
  • Analyze equipment and component breakdowns and implement continuous improvement activities to improve equipment reliability
  • Perform and participate in safety, environmental, and quality audits and investigations and be involved in implementation of related corrective actions
