About The Position

GP Jager, a UFT company represents over eighty manufacturers of water and wastewater treatment in New York and New Jersey. With an expanded product line, territory and sales force, our product offering includes virtually every biological process, filtration, clarification, disinfection, chemical feed, and mechanical equipment available today. The role of Engineering Sales Specialist within GP Jager requires that you establish/maintain relationships with municipalities, consulting engineers and local general contractors working in the municipal market to promote sales and solutions represented by GP Jager. Utilizing GP Jager’s network of resources and partner companies, you will develop marketing strategies, exhibit at local trade shows, and strategize with your divisional team to optimize your territory’s sales potential through a variety of technologies and solutions. To be effective in this role, you must excel at time management, self-motivation, organization, diplomacy, conflict resolution and follow-up. The Engineering Sales Specialist’s position is an outside sales role requiring you to meet and be comfortable conversing with consultants, treatment plant-level personnel and contractors. Plant level or direct sales activities require in-person consultation, demonstration, and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years’ sales experience
  • Exceptional communication skills; both verbal and written
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or military experience with 4 years professional experience.
  • Located in upstate New York, preferably Albany, Syracuse, or Binnington areas
  • Great organizational and relationship skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 and familiarity with CRM systems

Nice To Haves

  • Water/ Wastewater industry experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Expand on existing relationships with end users, contractors and engineers while building lasting relationships with new accounts.
  • Provide engineers and end users a professional level of product promotion/selection, support and follow up to ensure projects are successful and to maximize sales revenue.
  • Be self-motivated to setup meetings, product promotion events and relationship building activities to maintain frequent contact with your customer base.
  • Attend product training seminars and participate in local industry associations and tradeshows.
  • Travel to represented companies for training on an as-needed basis.
