About The Position

Detail-driven problem solver who enjoys helping customers, keeping projects moving, and turning complex utility processes into clear, organized solutions. What You'll Do You'll be the go-to support for Development Services - helping residents, contractors, and developers navigate water and sewer permits, fees, and utility requirements while keeping projects compliant, organized, and on track. If you like a mix of customer service, technical coordination, and behind-the-scenes problem solving, this role offers variety and impact every day.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Technology, or related field required; Bachelor's preferred
  • Relevant experience may substitute for education
  • Strong customer service and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to interpret regulations, technical documents, and property records

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in permitting, utilities, construction support, public works, or municipal services is a plus
  • Valid Indiana Driver's License (if operating a City vehicle)
  • Experience with systems such as Accela, GIS/ArcMap, Application Xtender, or similar permitting/database tools

Responsibilities

  • Support customers and contractors by answering inquiries and guiding them through permitting and utility processes
  • Process fees, contracts, service orders, and daily cash reconciliations accurately
  • Coordinate permits, inspections, developer agreements, and project documentation
  • Maintain and digitize records in systems like Accela and GIS to keep projects organized and compliant
  • Collaborate with engineering staff and City departments to resolve issues and keep projects moving forward
