Requirements

  • Welding experience required
  • An acceptable combination of education and work experience
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Ability to read, interpret, and review blueprints and shop drawings, and provide suggestions for improvement
  • Possess confidence, imagination, initiative, creativity, and a desire to continuously learn
  • Goal oriented
  • Works well both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, including the ability to address challenges with limited information and to conduct Root Cause Analysis when necessary
  • Effective communication skills
  • Teamwork and a desire to collaborate with others to drive product improvements
  • Accountability and dependability
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a fabrication shop is preferred
  • Basic machining skills – operation of mills, saws, lathes, etc – preferred
  • Fabrication of fixtures experience preferred
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics and electrical circuits are assets
  • Knowledge of and experience with current farming practices and equipment are assets

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and test prototypes for all R&D projects, as assigned
  • Work with suitable prototype testing farmers/partners as required
  • Assist, as assigned, in the creation of documentation to fully document all aspects of the assigned project development testing. This includes periodic, written and verbal reports as required in the form of training, written instructions, seminars, etc.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to R&D Design personnel to ensure project parameters and testing goals are met
  • Maintain shop equipment and tools
