About The Position

The Engineering Project Technician / Engineer serves technical and administrative functions in the manufacturing facilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor's in Engineering or other related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years prior Industrial Mechanic or Field Service experience.
  • Plastics Experience is a plus.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing on-site visits and maintenance tasks.
  • Basic drafting experience using AutoCAD.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
  • Ability to troubleshoot PLCs.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
  • Technical or electrical degree a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve technical and administrative functions in the manufacturing facilities.
  • Organize and maintain project documentation, drawing and design databases.
  • Install and troubleshoot 480-volt 3 phase electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
  • Design, fabricate, machine, and weld parts and components.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues.
  • Travel for projects on short notice including weekends (70% travel, typically 1-2 weeks at a time).
  • Work with Senior Engineering Team Members on installation, troubleshooting, and upgrades of equipment and processes.
  • Help with Engineering and Plant Maintenance Projects to achieve desired results within agreed budget and timeline.
  • Manage and perform physical installation of equipment during moves and upgrades.
  • Assist Maintenance in identifying and resolving problems.
  • Physically troubleshoot and repair production equipment to ensure order fulfillment is achieved.
  • Identify opportunities for system improvements, upgrades, or enhancements to optimize automation performance.
  • Perform various other duties as assigned.
