The Lockheed Martin Artificial Intelligence Center (LAIC) team is seeking a high energy, highly motivated, and experienced individual to join our Applied AI team, specifically the STAR.OS portfolio. As a key member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from prototypes to deployment, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions that provide cutting-edge capabilities to our customers. With a focus on rapid iteration and maturation of solutions, you'll be part of a dynamic team that's dedicated to exploiting small, innovative, and agile teams to drive success. The selected candidate will focus on the integration of software products that implement Artificial Intelligence to provide discriminating capability to our customers. This will require engagement in every phase of the system development lifecycle including requirements generation, system and software design, implementation, integration, and flight test. Activities will range from proof of concepts, development of prototypes, building demonstrators, and transition to production. The candidate may also be expected assume technical program manager responsibilities and mentor junior engineers. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related discipline
  • Experience deploying software to classified networks (e.g., Secret Collateral, Top Secret, SAP).
  • Experience managing cost, schedule, and execution on a small or large project.
  • Secret Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with integrating a System of Systems (SoS) architecture.
  • Experience with working OR presenting to internal OR external customers.
  • Experience managing cost, schedule, and execution on a small or large project.
  • Experience with leading a team from design to planning to development, and integration.
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related discipline
  • Experience with Test-Driven Development from both unit- and system/acceptance-level perspectives
  • Experience with software orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes, Helm, Istio/Linkerd) and modern GitOps workflows
  • Experience developing microservices and microservice architectures
  • Experience building and deploying software for defense mission systems
  • Experience with real-time embedded software engineering
  • Experience with hardware-accelerated computing for both CPUs and GPUs (e.g. CUDA, Intel oneAPI, SYCL)
  • Experience with model deployment software libraries and stacks (e.g. NVIDIA TensorRT, Triton Inference Server, OnnxRuntime)
  • Experience deploying AI-enabled systems in multiple environments (e.g. cloud, edge devices)
  • Experience with high-performance computing
  • Experience leading other engineers or small teams
  • Familiarity with transitioning prototype software to production
  • Experience working in Special Access Programs (SAP)
  • Top Secret // SCI Clearance

Responsibilities
