Arthrex, Inc is a global medical device company and leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. The Engineering Program and Project Management Team in Santa Barbara, California (ACT) is responsible for managing medical device projects and supporting Scrum and Agile processes. We are searching for an intern who is an undergraduate or recent grad who would like to explore project management and Agile. Approximately 20% of the internship time will be spent experiencing the Agile philosophy in action through supporting the Scrum processes and 80% of the internship will be supporting the Project Managers with planning, monitoring, and executing projects with guidance from the team. The individual will learn how to document risks, monitor the critical path, and assist with project change requests. The individual will also work closely with engineering team members to relay status updates on projects and help push them toward success. The individual will need strong verbal and written communication skills. This internship will run from May 2026 - August 2026. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 30-40 hours per week at our Santa Barbara, CA facility.

  • Work with project team to document project scope, risks, constraints, dependencies, assumptions, deadlines.
  • Coordinate team building activities for engineering teams.
  • Facilitate scrum daily stand up meetings and retrospectives.
  • Assist Project Managers with obtaining weekly project updates from team members.
  • Organize and schedule team meetings.
  • Monitor project progress, learn how to use predictive metrics, and help in adjustments.
  • Progress towards a college degree in a related field required, preferably in Engineering or Software Development.
  • Recent graduates must be within six months of their graduation date to qualify.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interest in Scrum and Agile preferred.
  • Interest in Software Development, Engineering Project Management, and Agile Methodologies preferred.
