About The Position

The MusicApps team is looking for an Engineering Program Manager to run the Voice Memos program. This involves tracking and managing scope definition, negotiation, communications, reporting and delivery of multiple, parallel work streams across parallel software releases with teams across the international Apple organization. Day to day activities include tracking team progress, uncovering and resolving blockages and dependencies, managing delivery pressures, negotiating scope and delivery timelines, keeping the team unblocked and moving forward and reporting progress to stakeholders using various tools. This is a very busy and unpredictable program where the ability to switch context and deal with new, unexpected requests is commonplace. Often you will solely represent the team in meetings, so being able to understand and communicate the team’s status is key. There are many touch points with teams across the Apple organization, making communication very important.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience as a Technical Program/Project manager
  • Experience managing a large, multidisciplinary, multi-track, international project(s)
  • Experience in identifying ambiguities in the scope definition of requests, in scheduling of deliverables and in ownership of responsibility and seeks to resolve them.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders in HI, engineering, QA, Privacy, Legal, leadership
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, especially the ability to filter and distill meaningful information to the right audience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Voice Memos on a regular basis
  • Experience in a Software engineering or Computer Science background
  • Experience with Logic Pro or other digital audio workstation software
  • Experience, past or present, with a musical instrument
  • As a member of the MusicApps team, we expect this candidate to have an interest in music of some type
