Requirements

  • BS degree, Engineering discipline preferred with 5+ years of related experience. MBA, additional project management training or PMP certification a plus.
  • Experience leading one or more complex development projects.
  • Experience working with product development and cost reduction processes.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to drive program specific issues and goals to closure.
  • Ability to integrate business, marketing, and technical elements.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-starter who is proactive, accountable, engaged and takes initiative.
  • Able to function in a team environment and ability to successfully negotiate and build consensus.
  • Takes responsibility for project execution and drives projects to successful completion.
  • Skilled at problem solving, developing alternatives, and presenting recommendations.
  • Proficient at defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Ability to develop detailed project schedules and perform cross functional risk management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of management.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with virtual and offshore teams preferred.
  • Experience with HVACR (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration) systems preferred.
  • Six Sigma or Lean certification preferred.
  • Strong understanding of consumer products, software, and hardware development preferred.
  • Experience with project management software a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with management and business leaders to create the program scope, objectives, and risk assessment.
  • Manage and facilitate execution and operating mechanisms coordinated with business cadence.
  • Manage program kick-off, cross-functional core team meetings, complexity assessment, scope/change management, risk management, integrated program planning/execution, and communication.
  • Work closely with product marketing to finalize and document customer and product requirements.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of the core cross-functional team to ensure that the project progresses on schedule and within budget while meeting established system requirements.
  • Confer with project team leaders to develop plans and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
  • Review status reports prepared by project team leaders and combines information into a program status report to present and/or submit to management and others.
  • Confer with program personnel to provide technical advice and problem resolution.
  • Prepare and/or facilitate development of program objectives, milestones, meeting minutes, risk assessment meetings, escalation meetings, design reviews, and design changes.
  • Work on process improvement initiatives related to New Product Development (NPD) or Cost Reduction processes.
  • Work with sourcing, engineering, manufacturing, supplier development engineers (SDE), and external partners (suppliers/vendors) with project execution.
  • Travel up to 25% to start for building relationships and network with Division and Factory Engineering and Operations teams.
