Engineering & Preventative Maintenance Technician We are seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven Engineering & Preventative Maintenance Technician who is eager to expand their technical expertise while supporting a luxury level guest experience. This role requires strong collaboration with Housekeeping, Front Office and other departments to ensure guest rooms and public spaces consistently meet the highest standards of presentation, safety, and functionality.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule: weekends, holidays, AM, PM occasionally overnight and overtime when needed

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop new skilled trades to continuously enhance overall engineering capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliance issues in guest rooms and public areas.
  • Perform daily preventive maintenance inspections in assigned guest rooms, coordinating closely with the Front Desk and Housekeeping departments
  • Complete room repairs including painting, drywall patching, wallpaper installation, fixture adjustments, and replacement of lock batteries.
  • Maintain and properly store tools and equipment to ensure readiness and safety for preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Support the upkeep of common areas by painting, patching drywall, installing wallpaper, and maintaining finishes throughout the hotel.
  • Polish marble, stainless steel, and other decorative surfaces to preserve luxury presentation standards.
  • Partner with Housekeeping to ensure rooms are returned to inventory promptly and meet brand cleanliness and maintenance expectations.
  • Respond to service tickets and guest requests, particularly during team member call-outs or high-volume periods.
  • Accurately document maintenance activities and communicate progress on preventive maintenance rooms.
