About The Position

As part of AWS Infrastructure Services, you will work with teams of front-line responders who support the operations of some of the world’s most powerful data centers. The Data Center Engineering Operations team maintains and operates critical infrastructure systems to ensure they are prepared for any situation. You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers to deliver high standards for safety and security while providing capacity at the lowest possible cost for customers. The role involves working with cutting-edge technology and practices to meet market demands.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in relevant work.
  • Ability to bend or twist the body into unusual positions while working.
  • Ability to use hands to manipulate small wires and objects.
  • Ability to walk on job sites in uneven terrain.
  • Ability to work at heights and from ladders.

Nice To Haves

  • 4+ years of data center engineering experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of network design and layout as well as low voltage (copper/fiber) cabling.
  • Experience in data center engineering.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks all day without becoming overly tired.

Responsibilities

  • Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities.
  • Drive projects with moderate complexity.
  • Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA).
  • Perform rack installs, rack decommissioning, operational readings, and facility management.
  • Provide key performance indicators to senior engineers.
  • Manage on-site contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors, ensuring compliance with established practices and local legislation.
  • Oversee maintenance and operations on all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures while performing work.
  • Perform basic support concepts such as ticketing systems, root cause analysis, change management creation, writing procedures, and building management systems.
  • Maintain data center critical infrastructure equipment ensuring 99.999% uptime.
  • Support more than one location/site as needed.
  • Perform physical tasks including lifting, walking on uneven terrain, and working at heights.
