About The Position

The Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) role at Amazon Data Services involves maintaining and operating critical infrastructure systems within data centers. The position focuses on ensuring the reliability and efficiency of AWS's cloud computing services by collaborating with a diverse team of engineers and specialists. EOTs are responsible for driving innovation, managing facility operations, and adhering to safety protocols while supporting the infrastructure that powers AWS's global services.

Requirements

• Technical training (Military/Trade School) or 2+ years of equivalent experience in a relevant industry (e.g., electrical or mechanical).
• 2+ years of electrical or mechanical experience.
• 2+ years' experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Nice To Haves

• 4+ years of Data Center Engineering experience.
• Associates or Bachelor's Degree.

Responsibilities

• Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities.
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA).
• Perform rack installs, rack decommissioning, operational readings, and facility management.
• Provide key performance indicators to senior engineers.
• Manage on-site contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors, ensuring compliance with established practices and local legislation.
• Oversee maintenance and operations of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center.
• Ensure adherence to safety procedures during work.
• Utilize ticketing systems, root cause analysis, change management, and procedure writing.
• Maintain data center critical infrastructure equipment to ensure 99.999% uptime.
