Your technical and leadership skills will be crucial in ensuring our plants, utility systems, buildings, and equipment are operational. Pfizer depends on you for the maintenance, redesign, and repair of utilities in our facilities and fabrication shop (back shop), including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, air conditioning, heating, painting, and general upkeep. You will be responsible for taking preventive and corrective actions, setting priorities, forecasting, and allocating resources for maintenance tasks. What You Will Achieve In this role, you will: Lead and manage people, technology, and financial resources within the department in compliance with cGMPs, SOPs, and all federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations. Actively share knowledge and identify potential improvements in processes or products, taking risks to develop innovative ideas. Solve moderately complex problems within your expertise and assist with issues outside the department. Oversee operational activities to support the department's short-term goals and manage multiple projects involving cross-functional representatives. Recognize development needs in others, collaborate to create development plans, and manage the performance of direct reports through goal setting, coaching, and ongoing assessment. Solicit input, explain complex concepts, and persuade others to adopt a point of view while effectively sharing your own perspective and rationale. Support programs and systems with procedures and training, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company requirements, including SOPs, cGMP, safety, quality, OSHA, and other standards. Develop strategies and methods to improve maintenance processes and procedures, enhancing equipment performance and conducting equipment evaluations for new or replacement needs. Facilitate equipment-based Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations, govern maintenance planning and scheduling, foster teamwork, encourage colleague development, and provide salary planning and change management recommendations. Conceptualize unique solutions to problems or repairs requiring the use of machining and fabrication methods and tools. Interpret complex machining and fabrication drawings. Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives related to compliance, safety, and production to minimize risk, ensure product quality, and reduce waste. Ensuring adequate communication with key stakeholder groups. Championing a safety culture by aiding in the establishment of safety rules and instructions, reporting events to EH&S, and ensuring appropriate steps are taken to mitigate risk.
