About The Position
The New York State Department of Transportation is seeking candidates for the position of Engineering Materials Analyst/Trainee 2/Trainee 1/Senior Materials Analyst (NY HELPS). Under the supervision of a higher-level supervisor or manager, the incumbents will perform technical work which may include, but is not limited to identifying and logging incoming samples into a computer software program, preparing samples and conducting standard tests, conducting complex tests on specialized materials, recording test data and calculating test results, maintaining test equipment and a clean work area, and ensuring staff is knowledgeable of safety procedures. The position is full-time, with a workweek from Monday to Friday, and requires no travel. Telecommuting is not permitted due to the nature of the work.
