About The Position

Ichor Systems is hiring for an Engineering Manager, reporting to a Sr Engineering Manager, to lead a multi-functional engineering team consisting of hardware and sustaining engineers. This position will lead the design, development, validation, and sustainment of electrical hardware and systems components used in advanced semiconductor flow control products. The successful candidate will also oversee flow control product sustaining efforts, working tightly with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to ensure root causes are identified and communicated properly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in hardware development.
  • Knowledge of printed circuit board design, layout, and manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of applying C/C++ for hardware test or willingness to learn.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and good engineering practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional engineering projects.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers (hardware and sustaining engineers).
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful product launches.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D and Product Management teams to define electrical hardware requirements and development plans.
  • Drive the definition and development of new electrical hardware components including, but not limited to, printed circuit boards, cables, and sensors.
  • Supervise design reviews, prototype procurement, hardware verification, and manufacturing introduction.
  • Partner with Supply Chain Management and Supplier Quality Management teams to maintain component availability, minimize component end-of-life risk, produce supplier testing and quality standards, and review first article inspection data.
  • Ensure robust design-for-manufacturability (DFM), design-for-test (DFT), and reliability strategies are implemented.
  • Oversee product sustaining efforts including the resolution of defects and issues that may arise due to design issues, supply chain problems, manufacturing non-conformance reports, and customer deployment non-conformance reports.
  • Work with Quality Engineering to produce non-conformance response reports that clearly identify root cause and communicate corrective action strategies.
  • Create and maintain engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance team productivity and product quality.
