About The Position

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a remote-first, high-performing team focused on large-scale data streaming systems. In this role, you will oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable, distributed software while mentoring engineers and driving technical excellence. You will partner closely with product management and cross-functional teams to prioritize and execute the roadmap, ensuring timely delivery of innovative, high-quality solutions. This hands-on leadership role combines strategic planning with direct technical involvement, allowing you to influence both team growth and system architecture. You will foster a collaborative, inclusive, and customer-focused environment while maintaining a strong foundation in engineering practices. The position requires balancing immediate problem-solving with long-term vision to drive sustainable innovation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading distributed engineering teams with a focus on collaboration and delivery.
  • Strong technical expertise in designing and building scalable, distributed systems and high-scale data streaming applications.
  • Hands-on experience developing software in SaaS environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, mentor, and grow high-performing engineering teams.
  • Experience managing remote teams in Agile, fast-paced environments.
  • Comfort working directly with customers to resolve technical challenges and enhance features.
  • Track record of establishing and promoting robust engineering practices and processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of industry experience with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role.

Responsibilities

  • Build, mentor, and lead distributed engineering teams developing large-scale machine data processing applications.
  • Champion technical excellence, including design quality, code standards, and system robustness.
  • Provide hands-on support through code reviews, architecture guidance, and technical problem-solving.
  • Drive projects from concept through implementation, testing, and delivery.
  • Foster a customer-centric culture to ensure solutions meet client needs and expectations.
  • Attract, hire, and develop top engineering talent while promoting diversity and inclusion.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on strategy and achieve company-wide goals.
  • Balance immediate operational needs with long-term planning to support sustainable innovation.
  • Partner with product and operations teams to shape, prioritize, and execute the product roadmap.
