About The Position

As the EM for Semgrep's Security Workflows team, you’ll lead a group of software engineers building customer-facing, cross-product integrations that make it simple for application security teams to prioritize, triage, and remediate vulnerabilities at scale. Whether that is through notifications, automating their workflows, reporting on how much time you saved them, or the next great idea, you’ll see how you can bring all the products together to help teams fix vulnerabilities fast and easy. Application Security teams deal with thousands of vulnerabilities every day, and our goal is to enable teams to cut through the noise and more efficiently focus on the most impactful vulnerabilities first. We aim to help AppSec teams fix vulnerabilities by building integrations with the systems where developers are already active. You'll help Semgrep be the leading application security platform while mentoring junior engineers, collaborating on customer-loved tools, architecting data systems, and helping users understand their security posture. Through Semgrep's culture of transparency, you'll see and influence the decisions that make a startup successful.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience leading software engineering teams
  • A strong foundation in product development and bringing products to production via a multi-disciplinary engineering team - including understanding best practices for design, iterative milestone creation, and utilizing customer feedback
  • Familiarity with agile development principles and iterative milestone development
  • A strong desire to help engineers and other leaders grow through coaching and mentorship
  • You have opinions on integrations (Jira, Linear, Asana, etc.), an “If this then that”-style notification system, and providing reusable foundational components to other teams that make building new products easy

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with your product and design partners to create a roadmap for the success of your product that balances iterative changes with big bets
  • Prioritize and direct your team’s schedule, balancing the needs of developing new technology and internal technical quality
  • Retain and strengthen engineers with coaching and mentorship, regular feedback, performance reviews, and performance management when necessary
  • Build an environment of trust that rewards creativity, risk taking, and personal responsibility
  • Continually grow your team through the hiring of diverse, productive, high-level technical talent
