About The Position

We’re seeking an Engineering Manager II to lead our Stats & Analytics Data Platform team — the group responsible for building and operating the infrastructure that powers data at scale across StackAdapt. Our systems process terabytes of data daily, serving both real-time and batch use cases. The Data Platform ensures that data is fresh, accurate, and cost-efficient so that analytics, machine learning, and product teams can rely on trustworthy, governed datasets. StackAdapt is a Remote First company, and we are open to candidates located anywhere in the United States or Canada.

Requirements

  • Strong background in data & software engineering and distributed systems, ideally at scale (terabytes+).
  • Proven technical leadership and people management experience, with the ability to set vision and drive execution.
  • Hands-on experience with modern data warehouses, lakes, and compute/storage technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Pinot, TiDB, Spark, Airflow, Kafka, Trino/Presto).
  • Experience designing, building, and scaling robust ETL pipelines and real-time streaming processes.
  • Solid understanding of data governance, lineage, and cost efficiency in cloud environments.
  • Ability to think strategically, communicate clearly, and lead teams through technical and organizational growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a team of talented engineers focused on data infrastructure and distributed systems.
  • Architect and oversee the design of scalable data pipelines, batch jobs, and streaming processes that power analytics and machine learning.
  • Manage data storage systems (warehouses, lakes, and analytical databases) with a focus on reliability, lineage, and governance.
  • Guide the team in adopting modern tools and practices across ETL, orchestration, and big data processing.
  • Partner with stakeholders across engineering, data science, and product to align platform capabilities with business needs.
  • Mentor engineers, promote technical excellence, and cultivate a culture of learning and collaboration.
  • Drive projects to completion, balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day operational needs.
  • Participate in hiring by interviewing, evaluating, and onboarding new team members.
