Join the Snowflake team as a Software Engineering Manager to help build a world-class developer platform for the Snowflake Data Cloud. You will lead and expand our distributed engineering team, working alongside industry experts in distributed systems and engineering excellence. Your role will involve evolving our developer infrastructure and tooling to be elastic, large-scale, and highly performant, with simplicity at its core. As a manager in the Developer Productivity area, you will oversee a team focused on improving the inner loop for Snowflake engineers, driving clarity on our strategy, and partnering with product managers to chart quarterly and long-term roadmaps. You will ensure the team meets current customer needs while staying ahead of technological trends and future demands.

  • Lead and expand the distributed engineering team.
  • Evolve developer infrastructure and tooling for performance and simplicity.
  • Manage a team focused on improving developer productivity.
  • Drive clarity on strategy and partner with product managers for roadmaps.
  • Ensure team execution aligns with customer needs and future demands.
  • Strong passion for making developers highly productive.
  • 3+ years of software engineering management experience.
  • 10+ years of industry experience designing and building distributed data systems.
  • Track record of leading distributed technical teams.
  • Proven experience with authoring roadmap documents, project plans, and RCAs.
  • Experience with modern distributed build systems, IDEs, and cloud-based developer environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong CS fundamentals.
  • Fluency in Java, C++, Python, or Go.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and mentor junior engineers.
  • Strategic mindset with strong prioritization skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Outstanding written and oral English language skills.
  • Ability to work on-site at the Bellevue, WA office.
  • Experience with Kubernetes (k8s).
  • Familiarity with Bazel / RBE.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration systems.
  • Experience with multi-tenant systems focusing on reliability, performance, isolation, and security.
