About The Position

The ideal candidate will have a unique blend of leadership, technical expertise, and a passion for new technology. This person will be working closely with other Engineers, Product and Data Scientists to develop and deploy AI products built in Google Cloud Platform for Catalog Team. She/He must exhibit a deep understanding of modern technology stack and agile delivery models, demonstrate the focus on customer experience, and must have a proven record of accomplishment of modern software development and delivering strategic solutions. Close collaboration and alignment with a wide variety of both internal stakeholders and external vendors will be required. As such, exceptional abilities in building and maintaining strong working relationships and organizational savvy will be required. High-level communication and presentation skills are required. The ability to attract, retain, and develop engineering talent will be critical.

Requirements

• 8+ years' experience in software engineering, Data Science & technology.
• MS/PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related fields.
• Experience designing and developing deep learning, machine learning, optimization, and statistical models.
• Strong hands-on programming skills in Python; knowledge of SQL, Spark/equivalent.
• Expertise running queries against data (preferably with Google BigQuery or SQL).
• Expertise in Prescriptive Modeling like optimization, computer vision, recommendation, Search or NLP.
• Demonstrated mastery in predictive modeling, data mining, and data analysis.
• Strong analytical thinking and data visualization skills.
• Ability to clean, transform, manipulate, and analyze large datasets for insights.
• Experience in designing and running A/B Tests and analyzing Key Metrics.
• Experience with cloud computing on at least one of the major providers (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure).

• Background in handling supply chain data.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with data scientists, AI/ML engineers, and product managers to build and augment AI-driven digital Catalog products.
• Leverage Python and Scala to perform data exploration and analysis, implement algorithmic solutions, and push solutions to production.
• Review business context for solutions to company challenges and define the vision and requirements for the solution.
• Understand and follow Agile principles, participate in code reviews, and create a maintainable and well-tested codebase.
• Initiate meetings with senior management to understand business drivers and functional requirements.
• Direct the identification and recommendation of appropriate solutions, upgrades, or decommissioning options.
• Communicate architecture to stakeholders and collaborate with domain architects on IT standards and procedures.
• Provide oversight on delivery to ensure best practices, standards, automation, quality, and cost-effective solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to lead engineers and the technical team.
