About The Position

The position involves responding to maintenance and repair calls in guest rooms and other areas of the facility. The role requires a variety of skills in electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, and painting, as well as the ability to communicate effectively. The maintenance worker will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment is functioning correctly and that any issues are reported to the Maintenance Manager.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of safe handling of power tools.
  • General skills in electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, and painting/wall-covering.
  • Ability to communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to maintenance and repair calls to Guest Rooms as notified by Housekeeping and Member Service Desk.
  • Replace light bulbs and repair peeling wall covering.
  • Touch-up paint and/or damage to wall coverings.
  • Unblock sinks, toilets, or shower drains and repair sink stoppers.
  • Re-tune and troubleshoot TVs.
  • Check phone problems and thermostats.
  • Repair or replace shower heads and/or shower mixers.
  • Repair chips or burns to woodwork or furnishings.
  • Replace batteries in guest room door locks and troubleshoot faulty door locks.
  • Repair window treatments.
  • Maintain front-of-house and back-of-house areas, including touch-up painting and unclogging sinks and toilets.
  • Conduct an Equipment Status Check-List once per shift.
  • Conduct Preventive Maintenance program as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Respond to emergencies and assist as appropriate.
  • Perform daily chemical testing on boilers and cooling towers.
  • Ensure timely completion of calls and notify relevant departments.
  • Leave maintenance cards in occupied rooms to inform guests of resolved issues.
  • Work on maintenance and other projects as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
