About The Position

The position involves directing facility maintenance operations for Carilion's properties, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines while maintaining high customer satisfaction. The role encompasses asset direction, safety management, operational budgeting, and supervision of multi-tradesmen, with a focus on continuous improvement and quality assurance in maintenance services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Real Estate Management, or related field required; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Seven to ten years of experience in maintenance trades, construction, or property development, with three to five years in management or construction management.
  • Experience in Healthcare Properties preferred.
  • Virginia Driver's License required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills; proven leadership and management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, work order management software, and similar applications.
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading, drafting, estimating, building construction standards, and relevant codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Direct facility maintenance operations for CMC properties based on identified needs and guidelines.
  • Manage asset direction, safety management, regulatory compliance, and expense monitoring.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor operations-related policies and procedures.
  • Project, develop, and implement revenue and expense budgets.
  • Assess and reallocate resources to meet demands and ensure scorecard goals are met.
  • Develop budgets and feasibility studies for new projects and recommend capital expenditures.
  • Provide direction and support to supervisors and team leaders on maintenance activities and projects.
  • Evaluate the quality of completed work and define performance measures for customer satisfaction.
  • Manage the work order control system and implement programs to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Attract, select, develop, and retain qualified employees, utilizing developmental planning.
  • Drive client service and satisfaction while ensuring efficient resource allocation.
  • Identify, analyze, and maintain Quality Assurance practices for departmental operations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies including OSHA and Joint Commission.
  • Negotiate and ensure compliance with contractual agreements with vendors.
  • Resolve internal and external customer issues regarding maintenance and engineering.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to service scheduled maintenance programs and ensure quality workmanship.
  • Oversee preparation and execution of contractual arrangements and monitor performance issues.
  • Participate in facility planning initiatives and lead projects for productivity improvement.
