Assists engineers by performing technical tasks such as building prototypes, test equipment, analyzing data, maintaining machine tools, and assist in drafting 2-D drawings, primarily focusing on the practical implementation of engineering designs. This role will require strong mechanical, fabrication, and machining skills as well as attention to detail while working under the guidance of the mechanical, electrical, and/or test engineer staff; Contribute to team effort by handling other duties as assigned.

  • Building and assembling prototypes of products or components for testing and evaluation.
  • Conducting tests on equipment, materials, and systems to ensure performance meets standards and identify potential issues.
  • Maintaining and calibrating testing equipment, ensuring accuracy and proper functionality.
  • Recording and analyzing test data to identify trends and provide insights to engineers.
  • Providing technical assistance to engineers and other departments on project implementation and troubleshooting.
  • Inspecting products and components to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Creating technical drawings and blueprints based on engineer specifications.
  • Maintaining detailed records of test procedures, results, and project progress.
  • Proficiency with CNC machinery programming and operation (mill, lathe, laser cutters), welding, and assembly techniques.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, relevant software applications (CAD, CAM, data analysis tools), and technical specifications.
  • Comfortable using database, spreadsheet, word‐processing software, particularly those in Microsoft Office, to facilitate daily work and prepare reports.
  • Able to identify and troubleshoot technical issues, propose solutions, implement corrective actions, meet deadlines, and set priorities in a multi‐project fast paced environment.
  • Meticulous approach to work, ensuring accuracy in measurements, data recording, and documentation.
  • Clear ability to communicate technical information to engineers, technicians, and other stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong understanding of basic mathematics and statistics to analyze data effectively.
  • Must have a good work ethic and detail‐oriented; must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Has excellent attendance and completes quality work on time.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior machine tool, welding, fabricating experience a must.
  • CNC/CAM experience preferred.
