The Air Defense Ground Equipment (ADGE) Department leads mechanical design, development, and integration of platform systems. This includes shelter systems, hardware integration, cable & interconnections, as well as facility development, and site integration. The department is comprised of individuals with technical expertise and experience in hardware design, integration, and production support. The ADGE department is looking for a full-time Engineering Lead (Sr. Principal Engineer Mechanical Engineering) This position is on site in Tewksbury, MA

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience.
  • Prior Experience focusing on the design and development of mechanical equipment in military or defense environments.
  • Experience leading engineering teams with responsibility for cost, schedule, and technical execution.
  • Experience leading proposal development
  • Demonstrated mechanical design expertise, including trade studies, detailed design, production transition, and supplier support.
  • Experience with materials selection, manufacturing processes, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong collaboration skills; ability to work effectively with minimal conflict and within schedule constraints.
  • Experience in design, fabrication, and integration of military mobile shelters, trailers, and equipment packaging.
  • Self-driven leadership style with adaptability across varying assignments.
  • Working knowledge of military and commercial specifications.
  • Experience in electronics packaging design and integration.
  • Experience with Risk & Opportunity Management.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills, including reliability/failure analysis and development of technical white papers.
  • Engineering project management experience, including EVMS/EAC oversight and proposal leadership.
  • Experience with hardware design for Patriot Air Defense Systems

Responsibilities

  • Engineering lead driving the technical concept and execution for BMC4I scope on the CSP 2.0 program proposal
  • Coordinates the engineering team on the execution path required to get to a successful CSP 2.0 bid submittal
  • Interface with stakeholder organizations including Engineering, PMO, Supply Chain, Logistics, and External Suppliers
  • Be the primary point of contact between the IPT and the stakeholder organizations for task management and reporting
  • Hold regular meetings to align stakeholders and drive task execution
  • Lead BMC4I cost proposals and EACs
  • Apply materials selection, manufacturing processes, GD&T, and tolerance analysis to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Conduct root cause and corrective action analysis and present findings to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Support the factory and suppliers with product integration domestically and internationally.
