A Day in the Life Key Responsibilities Collaborate with engineers to set up laser equipment and execute process tests for laser cutting. Collaborate with cross-functional team to identify process improvement opportunities Develop and optimize laser processes for medical devices, from benchtop to production scale Identify process improvement opportunities including; fixtures, equipment, and inspection solutions Create test plans and reports to demonstrate technical rationale for associated decisions Support project timelines and scope, communicating changes and challenges to key stakeholders Develop or modify optimal toolpaths using Caglia software (g-code) Design & procure new tooling for laser workstations Analyze motion system accel/deccel and error within the toolpath Perform dimensional and visual inspections for laser test parts using microscopes, vision systems, and metrology equipment. Maintain detailed records of process runs, settings, measurements, and results. Apply appropriate technical skills and tools, such as DOE, hypothesis testing, capability studies, cliff studies, Gemba walks, and lean manufacturing tools, to perform in depth analysis, determine root cause, and identify corrective actions. All other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must Have, Minimum Requirements Minimum 7 years of hands-on laser experience
  • Strong grasp of laser processing and secondary operations
  • Experience with laser sources and workstations
  • Experience with laser analysis tools; IR puck, power meter, beam profiler, etc…
  • Experience with medical device cleaning standards, ISO13485, and GMP
  • Requires minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent (United States), vocational or technical education or certification (all other countries).
