MACOM is seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic engineering lab technician to join and contribute to our growing engineering lab developing breakthrough high power RF devices.
Perform PCB assembly using solder dispense, hot plate, and heat gun to maintain quality builds.
Support tuning/improving/changing products to meet customer/engineering requirements.
Use lumped elements such as capacitors, inductors, and resistors for product tuning or enhancement.
Operate and perform test setups using equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, pulse generators, power supplies, power meters/sensors, and multimeters.
Maintain a clean workspace and help organize lab/stock when needed.
Troubleshoot to the component level and test system setups applying solid problem-solving techniques.
Understand IC layouts, circuit schematics, and block diagrams to support communication with designers.
Associate's degree in Electronics is a plus or 3 years assembly and measurement experience is required.
Excellent PCB soldering/rework skills.
Demonstrated ability to carry out defined tasks independently with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of semiconductor and RF concepts.
Good planning, organizational, and prioritization skills.
Deadline and detail oriented.
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
Working knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Background in PCB repair and modification.
Experience working with RF and microwave products that operate from DC to 18 GHz.
