Engineering Lab Technician, EMC
About The Position
The Engineering Technician in the EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) lab provides technical support to engineers in the areas of product testing, data collection, and product and/or process development. Particular to working in the Lab environment, the Engineering Technician also interfaces with internal customers, evaluates test specifications, maintains test equipment and contributes to schedule creation. - General Responsibilities Leads analyzing the malfunctions and deviations of control systems to identify and resolve problems. Supports the engineering team on sample builds. Ensures tooling and equipment validation with engineering. Performs engineering tests. Ensures the development of testing and data analysis. Runs cycle time studies that identifies potential bottlenecks. Resolves irregularities in the process of the manufacturing equipment. Performs analysis and prepares reports using metrics obtained from monitoring using raw data, trends and other reports. Performs technical issues and trains other employees in the team. Advises on analysis and reports on metrics obtained from tracking using raw data, trends and other reports.
Requirements
- Relevant work experience or knowledge of the role
- Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
- Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
- Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Soldering skills (through-hole and surface mount) expected.
- Ability to lift 50lbs (large test items/heavier electronic equipment) expected.
Nice To Haves
- Existing familiarity with Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) standards and test methods is a plus.
Responsibilities

- Participates in troubleshooting complex technical issues and shares learnings with COE members to promote knowledge transfer.
- Maintains detailed records and documentation to facilitate continuous improvement and compliance with COE standards.
- Engages in ongoing training and skill development to stay current with emerging technologies and methodologies relevant to the COE’s focus areas.
