As a student intern with our Industrial Facilities Engineering and Design team, you will perform meaningful, hands-on, real-world work that will transform your classroom experience and help you envision your future career. You'll work alongside experienced staff and engineers to create construction documents and specifications.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, or other 3D modeling tools.
  • Coursework or experience in HVAC design or thermodynamics.
  • Familiarity with HVAC codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, IMC).
  • Interest in mechanical systems for industrial facilities, including ventilation and process cooling.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Create construction documents and specifications.
  • Perform 3D modeling of mechanical systems.
  • Conduct pipe stress and pressure vessel analysis.
  • Engage in hydraulic modeling.
  • Design HVAC systems, including load calculations, duct and piping layout, equipment selection, and energy efficiency analysis.
  • Coordinate HVAC systems with architectural and structural elements, as well as other building systems.
