CoorsTek, a leader in technical ceramics and a certified ‘Great Place to Work' company, is looking for an Engineering Intern to join our creative team. You will have the opportunity to join & lead a small, short-term engineering project. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will learn ceramic product manufacturing through studying material properties, iso-static pressing, green forming, sintering, diamond grinding, and critical cleaning and will leave this position with invaluable skills and industry knowledge.

  • Use strategic thinking to approach problems and create solutions
  • Present recommendations to management regarding manufacturing improvements based on data collected on production floor
  • Charter a project, develop a documentation plan & perform statistical analysis with assistance from a Sr. Engineer
  • Update manufacturing and plant prints using CAD software
  • Meet with cross-functional team and set up traceability plan for critical process
  • Communicate findings and project status clearly and professionally through presentations
  • Support the manufacturing team by contributing to the development and improvement of manufacturing processes, products, and equipment
  • Identify and implement process improvements, troubleshoot technical issues, and support ongoing production operations
  • Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree engineering program
  • Mechanical, Ceramics, Materials Engineering degree preferred
  • Interest and/or coursework in Engineering or Material Science
  • Problem-solving skills: Analyze complex problems, identify potential solutions, and implement effective strategies
  • Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with other team members, providing and receiving feedback
  • Data analysis: Analyze and interpret data related to their field of study, using statistical methods and software
  • Proficiency or experience in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Quality control and assurance knowledge
  • Root cause analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with material science and selection is a plus
  • Knowledge of statistical process control
  • Technical writing and documentation skills
